June 2011 - Additional information is now available for individual locations in the CIMS database. The data includes General Location Information, Startup of new crudes, Companies operating at that location, and Supply and Disposition Statistics. This information is available for most locations in the database - as well as two regions (United States and Canada).
September 2009 - A new Production Tab has been added to the CIMS database. Crudes can now be sorted based on production information. Click for details.
April 2007 - New Sorting features have been added to the CIMS database. Now, all column headers highlighted in blue are sortable. Click for details.
January 2007 - Another feature has been introduced into each CIMS entry. The new “crude snapshot” data is an easy reference section with pertinent information on each grade in the system. To learn more, or see an example of the new data snapshots, Click here.

February 2006 - PTI introduces a News Briefs Section into the Crude Information Management System (CIMS) database. Click here for details.
September 2005 - Haverly Systems, Inc. introduces a new web-based application known as H/COMET (Crude Oil Management Evaluation Tool). This product links directly to PetroTech Intel’s Crude Information Management System (CIMS). Click here for details.

April 2003 - For an inside look into the Crude Information Management System (CIMS), PTI now has a sample record (Nile Blend) to illustrate the type of data available for most of the 2000+ crudes included in the database. Free Evaluation Accounts for CIMS are available for potential users to review the content of the database and the search function capabilities of the system. January 2003 - To introduce new clients to the Crude Information Management System (CIMS) database, PTI has compiled a list of the 2000+ crude grades currently residing in the database. The system is used to monitor crude quality for existing grades and alerts subscribers to changes. CIMS also keeps track of new discoveries and new field developments. Information on crudes and crude components is updated on a regular basis.

April 2002 - The PTI Intelligence Report was initiated over two years ago. Archival information is now available for this publication. A complete set of twelve monthly issues from 2001 can be purchased for $495. The original ten issues from 2000 are also available for $250. Each annual volume combines the table of contents and crude field highlights for the entire year. February 2002 - The new Angolan crude oil, Girassol, started production in early Dec. 2001 at 40 kBD and is now producing near its peak output rate of 200 kBD. PTI and ITS Caleb Brett are completing a crude assay analysis on this new grade. January 2002 - PetroTech Intel's CIMS Database begins "roll out". Free "Evaluation Accounts" are available for potential subscribers. July 2001 - The Crude Information Management System (CIMS) is now being Beta-tested. This database, with more than 1700 crudes (field components and standalone grades), keeps track of new discoveries, new field developments, and quality changes in existing crude grades. April 2001 - PetroTech Intel will present "The Importance of Effective Crude Characterization" and demo a beta version of the new CIMS (Crude Information Management System) database at Haverly Systems' 19th Asian MUG Conference in Kuala Lumpur (June 10-13, 2001).
January 2001 - Users can now customize their own Crude Assays. PetroTech Intel is pleased to announce this newest development. Users now have the ability to choose crude oil properties of interest and PTI will perform an assay designed specifically to meet your needs. Find out more about our Customized Crude Assays
December 2000 - PetroTech Intel has evaluated the data from Statoil's recent assays on Norwegian crudes. After checking material and property balances and ensuring overall data consistency, electronic files are now available. For more information see Recent Developments - Statoil Assays.
November 2000 - An enhancement has been made to our monthly PTI Intelligence reports! Based on individual crude cargo liftings, the report now includes a graphical representation of the crudes where significant changes in API quality have occurred. Take a look at our new API Gravity Trends.
October 2000 - PetroTech Intel has evaluated the data from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) crude assays released by the DOE. After checking material and property balances and ensuring overall data consistency, electronic files are now available. For more information see Recent Developments.
